Floyd Mayweather Becomes a Wild Poker Promoter

Each year sees the release of hundreds of different social casino games, but only a select few manage to stand out and survive in the highly competitive market. In September of 2016, Wild Poker subsequently released its beta version online, but a year on and its developer is now hoping to make huge waves in the mobile gaming market after signing undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather to promote the product.

Overview of Wild Poker

Wild Poker was developed by Hero Digital Entertainment and Playtex as a social version of Texas Hold Em with some additional features and twists designed to increase the overall appeal of the game. These special features include being forced to decide on a game strategy in real time, choosing between a variety of game characters each with different features, as well as impressive power-ups, and incredible graphics.

To provide players with an idea of what to expect when playing Wild Poker, here is a brief explanation of the top aspects of the game; there are several animal characters to choose from, each of which have their own individual characteristics and behaviors. If a players chooses a giraffe, for instance, then they’ll be able to use its long neck to look over the shoulders of other players. Or if they choose a shark character, then they will be able to utilize its incredible sense of smell to gain an advantage over their opponents.

Mayweather has also been given his very own character in the game, with players who choose to play as Mayweather then be able to use his special skills, and receive special tips about how to win at the game. In addition, he has been given a presenters role in the game, and as Playtrex CEO Daniel Kashmir explains:

“Our mission with Wild Poker is to evolve the social casino genre to make it more fun and appealing to all types of players. By adding Floyd as a presenter within the game, it shows that we are committed to providing game experiences that can’t be found in any other social casino game.”

Wild Poker works with both Android and iOS devices and is available on both the Google and Apple Play Stores. While it is presently just a play money game, there are, however, some features and levels that players can pay real money to unlock.

Wild Poker/Mayweather Partnership

Wild Poker has an huge extra advantage over the rest of its competitors in the mobile gaming market, as it now has formed a partnership with ONE Entertainment, a consultancy firm specializing in the entertainment industry, and headed by Floyd “Money” Mayweather. One of its many services is to arrange celebrity endorsements, with the company subsequently seeing Floyd Mayweather as a great fit for Wild Poker, given his love of gambling and sports betting.

Following announcement of the new partnership arrangement between Wild Poker and Mayweather, the famous former boxing champion stated:

“As soon as I saw Wild Poker, I knew I wanted to become part of it. I’m constantly asked to put my name on stuff, but Wild Poker is different than any game I’ve ever seen. It’s poker, but it goes to the next level. There’s a whole new level of strategy with the power ups. It’s a cutting edge game, this is that next thing, and like everything I put my name on, Wild Poker is the best ever.”

Mayweather’s Accomplishments and Endorsements

Floyd Mayweather had his first professional boxing match back in October of 1996, and during his glorious career fought a total of 50 times, including winning 27 matches by knockout. Despite retiring in 2015, Mayweather fought UFC star Conor McGregor on Aug 26, 2017, with Mayweather ultimately defeating McGregor to reach a half century of undefeated matches.

He also received over $150 million for what was billed as the money fight of the century, and that is without even factoring in extra revenue earned from sponsorship and endorsements deals. Mayweather subsequently made his retirement official, and has since said that he would never have another professional boxing match.

Outside of actual fighting, Mayweather has a number of other business interests including owning real estate and gentlemen clubs, as well as being a boxing promoter himself. While he’s always been a huge fan of sports betting and gambling, this is the first time that the star has chosen to promote a social casino game. He is nonetheless being rewarded handsomely for his endorsement, though, and according to reports is receiving six figures, and potentially even greater amounts if Wild Poker proves a success.

Mayweather maintains a massive global following, and has over 50 million followers across all his social media profiles. Hero Digital Entertainment and Playtex can now look forward to tapping into this huge audience, and making the most of his social media following in order to promote their Wild Poker game.
